biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 05/16/2013 11:24 am A lamination is a flaw in the planchet, usually seen as a jagged layer lifting up or peeling off the coin. A die crack is a raised line on the surface of the coin that was struck on the coin. Die cracks usually emanate from a device instead of randomly located in an open field and they are usually fairly straight. I agree that it does appear to be a lamination.
