One Interesting Pattern Coin From Kyrgyzstan

gxseries Pillar of the Community Australia 3831 Posts	Posted 06/08/2013 09:02 am Supposedly a coin that was planned to be issued in 1994, high levels of inflation didn't see this coin issued for circulation. Saw this coin for sale a long time ago and missed my chance in getting it back then. Finally saw it for sale and didn't hesitate to get it. I don't know how to describe the design but it looks like it was modelled from the old Soviet 20 kopek. I'm not sure if there were any other denominations planned for issue. Obviously not "Som/Com" as in my only Kyrgyz coin. 20 tiyin aka 1/5 som (maybe should be spelled "tyjyn" for a better approximation of the exact Cyrillic letters - I know the "tiyin" spelling is used for the Uzbek issues, but they're spelled differently in Cyrillic).
