Hello. I bought another 1922 Lincoln, and I think it is 1922 weak D, die pair 3. Like with previous 1922 cent, this coin has:
- L in LIBERTY butts up against the rim
- Second 2 in date is weaker than first 2
- TRUST is weak but sharper than IN GOD WE (maybe?)
- Reverse is weak -- lower left part of O in ONE begins to
spread into the field as the die deteriotates
- Reverse looks "wavy"
- The reverse is slightly rotated counterclockwise
Remains of mintmark are visible, but please tell me, is this is a Weak D version? I know, that there are slightly damage near mintmark point, but points of Die Pair 3 are correct. As
Lincoln Cent Resource talk, Die Pair 3 is "no D" and "weak D". Please tell me one more thing - why remains of mintmark are almost strictly below "2"? In other 1922-D examples "D" is always below "9" and "2". I have checked many pics and I don't found any 1922-D with mintmark below "2" at date. I took a picture with 1922-D penny, there is a clearly visible. Thank you for your help and sorry for my english.
