After a six month dry spell and countless disappointments in the form of "we had some but somebody else got them" or "we just sent a them to the ARP" or worst of all, "we do have some but you cannot have them because they are going to the ARP (yeah a likely story!)", I have finally scored something cool from the bank worth mentioning.
Today while picking up a few rolls of nickels I asked the teller as per usual if there were any old dollar coins or half dollars and she said no, but she did have 8 US $2 DOLLAR BILLS! Now they may not be worth much, but I still think it is unusual to find these already uncommon bills in Canada of all places, so I consider myself lucky no matter what. Felt good. Restored my faith in humanity and the hobby lol!
Haven't been able to examine them yet, but they are in good shape. More details to come.
My wife withdrew 200 dollars at the Credit Union in our town and received one American 20 in the lot. And we go to Florida in the fall and winter so it went in the sock.
So all of the bills are from the Series 2003a and unfortunately appear to have small staple holes in them unfortunately. Other than that they are in very lightly circulated condition. Two of them have consecutive serial #'s. Are there any particular variations that may be worth looking for?
