Medaldetector, yes He will be missed, but never forgotten! F.Y.I.:for new Collectors who are unfamiliar with the Father of Numismatics, here is a brief Bio. James E. Charlton (born July 26, 1911) is a Canadian coin dealer and numismatic publisher. After working as a stationary engineer, he opened a coin store in Toronto. He published his first guidebook, Catalogue of Canadian Coins, Tokens & Fractional Currency, in 1952. Other titles from Charlton Press followed. Subsequently he sold his store to concentrate on his publications, and later sold his publishing company, Charlton Press, which continues to publish price guides for coins, banknotes and other collectibles. Very sad news, but from what I have heard, he led a wonderful life. A huge contributor to the hobby, he will be missed by many.

May Jim Charlton rest in peace and my condolences go out to his family. Hadn't it been for Jim Charlton, the world and hobby of numismatics wouldn't be where it is today. His research and publications should be educated for future generations.

Here's the copy of the book I got freshly released at the 2001 RCNA (then CNA) convention in Quebec City. I think that was the first time meeting him, but I'm not certain.
