It has absolutely been cleaned... do you think it is real though? Does anything scream out as fake?

He realizes its cleaned, but he wants input on authenticity. Nothing screams fake to me, as long as the weight and diameter is correct, I think your ok

The diameter is spot on but the weight is 26.6... my scale has a +/- margin of .1 also though it shines you can tell it is cleaned and worn could that possible make up the other .03 difference?
my first post had the wrong weight... This weight is correct.

@WheatBack got it for $25 bucks! After much haggle because I know it is worn and cleaned... the guy was trying to sell it of as MS.... But I did buy some other less destroyed coins from him and talked him down on this one.... lol. Thought it was worth the risk.

I see no reason to doubt its' authenticity. But the guy was trying to call it MS?

$25? A rip for you. Absolutely looks genuine and worth at least $50. Merry Christmas!

Yeah... my local coin shop over inflates their ungraded coins... just because it's shinny don't mean it's an MS... but I did get some PCGS Slabbed coins for a fair deal and after much haggle got him down to $25 on this on. Because it was so worn and obviously cleaned it seems very flat and I was wondering if it was a fake... I brought this up with him that it could be a fake as I know there are a lot of CC fakes out there... so, any how, at the end of the day I walked away with some nice PCGS graded coins at a little above market price (I chalk it up to brick and mortar expenses) and got this coin for what I hope will turn out to be worth it.

BTW... this is my first CC Morgan... so even though it isn't in the most ideal condition if it is real then I am pretty stoked about it.

It's real and well worth what you paid for it. Congrats on your first CC Morgan. You do need to find a different LCS if the man thought he could pass this as MS although.

At first sight, obvious cleaning. Lots of pits and marks. But still a great, great coin for 25 bucks. Great addition to any collections. Specially if you don't have one yet. Great job!
