In my humble opinion, there is a 50/50 chance that silver will hit $50 in the next 5 years.

Misterpostman,

I'll bite.

50/50 chance silver will hit $12.50 in next 1 year.

Silver will hit $50 again, but it will take either the Chinese or the U.S. economy to tank (again).
That's when enough people like you and me feel it would be wise to put more investment emphasis into PM's.

It'll have to hit $30 first. And that won't happen.

Yes. There is a 100% probability that, given enough time, the price of silver will hit $50, or equivalent thereof. Even if the supply/demand equation for silver stays exactly the same as it is now, inflation will eventually and inexorably bring the price up (or rather, drag the value of the dollar down) until the price of silver reaches and passes $50. It might take years, or decades, or centuries even, but it is inevitable.

Of course, many things could also happen between now and then. Inflation affects everything, so the price of a McDonalds cheeseburger might hit $50 at around the same time, or sooner, or later, or the Surgeon-General might ban cheeseburgers before that happens. They might reform the currency or introduce the amero before silver hits $50, in which case you'd need to do some currency conversion calculations to figure out exactly when the price of silver hits 50 "old dollars".
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Yes, if we all live long enough we'll be around to see it.

I think we're more likely to see $10 before $50.

We could easily see both 10 and 50 within the next year

I would like to see silver at $10.

I agree with it going down before it goes up. A year ago some of us thought it would never go below $20, but look where we are now...

HIGHLY doubtful we would see 50 in the next year.

Its almost assured itll sniff 50 again at some point and probably within everyones lifetime who lives a couple more decades. Its unlikely however that itll happen in the near feature, and if you go off history getting into it now would not be a good return on your money with the time it will take to get back there.

Traevin was spot on when he said right now its more likely to see 10 than 50.

I meant some people thought a year ago it would not get below $20. It would take a long time before it gets up to $50.
