Got Me Some Krauses!!!

I use my copies all the time ,, They are a great reference book.

The unusual world coins volume is very interesting ,, there are a couple of coins in there that I have tried to find ,, so far unsuccessfully .

I haven't really looked in depth at the Unusual World coins catalog. What sets it apart from the regular Krause catalogs?

Congratulations, GO. Internet references are great, but there's still no substitute for books.

UWC contains all the private patterns, government-in-exile fundraisers and other "fantasies" - things that look more or less identical to coins (they normally have a date, denomination and country of issue) but were never issued or authorized by an internationally recognised government. Basically, anything that people might easily confuse with a "real coin".

What I'd like to know is where did Mexico-Revolution section go in the newest edition of 20th Century Krause...

My apologies. For some reason, our bookstore just received something called "Collecting World Coins 1901-2000" by Krause Publications, which, at first glace, looked like World Coins 1901-2000, but appears to be a slimmer edition of it.

I love the Krause reference books, even the "Collecting world coins" edition. When I upgraded to a Standard Catalog of World Coins, I passed it along to my daughter...and now my son. I have most of them and and use each of them on a daily basis. Sure, some of the info is not 100% accurate (Spanish coins, etc.) but for the most part, it's very good. I only wish they came out with a 1501-1600.
