Dim lighting, milky 2x2 plastic, flea market, I thought $20 for this would be good. Nope, it's been cleaned

So... what is it worth, and should I wear it down as a pocket piece? I'm not too worried about losing money because I found one or two rare/silver world coins at the same market for very cheap (Biafra shilling, early Austrian Republic coins, Nigerian pennies, some nice early 1900s base metal issues), but I'm still a bit angry.

Circulated Columbian Expo. Halves are worth a dollar or two over spot from what I have seen.

Perhaps it is just the photos, but is this coin plated? It has a goldish color.

Just the photos. In Canada, a big premium is tacked onto any of these halves... and even normal American silver halves go for $12 and up in any condition.

Pocket time with a small handful of copper and it will be good to go.

OK, in it goes. I like to keep coins that I got ripped off on in my pocket, so that I can eventually wear down the shame.

I like the Colombian halves. I'm glad they're melt-plus-epsilon-cheap so I can keep on buying .

It looks much better. I was prepared for you a "you win some, you lose some" schpeel but in your case I would have to say "you lose some, you win some anyway". Nice going !
