pmlmal New Member United States 14 Posts	Posted 07/16/2007 8:46 pm this past weekend I was out coin shopping and a local dealer opened up his desk drawer and tossed me over a coin. it was an 1871 Seated dollar. he said what a shame someone dilled a 1/4 inch hole in it. a beautiful coin it is anyway and I offered him 60.00 bucks for it which he gladly accepted. I am looking thru the august l&c coin magazine and they have listed a 1871 Seated dollar 1871HOLE fine for 150. the one I got is xf at least.did they mint some this way?did I get lucky?thanks for taking the time to read this paul Report this Post to the Staff

I will purchase as many as I can because that is a $175+ coin all day long $60 for an XF is not too shabby, it is still a holed coin but at least it is 1/4-1/6 of the price of an unholed coin.
