Just received this today , shocked first time they sent this to me,i have gotten a lot of fakes coins removed I should had received a lot of these .Why now not before..... Been reporting fakes for a couple of years,anyone get this message from ebay before. ebay sent this message to , Valarie & Ron (715vkf). Your registered name is included to show this message came from ebay. Learn more about how to tell if an email is really from ebay. Hello Valarie and Ron Thanks for reporting this listing to us. I reviewed this listing and confirmed that it was removed as a fake and appropriate action taken on the account. Again, thank you for your report. I've reported a few and it seems Judith is always the one that gets back to me. Always gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside.  |

Perhaps they finally decided a little encouragement is worth not getting involved in a real mess later. You are after all doing the hard part of detecting the counterfeits.

Yes Judith is the one who usually responds as well. Occasionally even more than just that generic reply, but asking for supporting documentation or photo evidence as to why a particular coin is fake.

I see they are getting better at replying back. just received this on today. I got one From Tiffany last week and again today. Hello David, Thanks for reporting these listings to us. I reviewed these listings and confirmed that they violated our Selling Currency policy. I was thinking of this post, I still report many fake and never get a reply any more from ebay . I guess Judith does not work for them anymore .  |

She does not, the CCW link right now is not monitored. They are working on routing that queue to other people and getting that link to redirect to a different reporting page.

I have also reported MANY fakes to ebay...many that were listed here and never got a response or saw that the item was removed. Congrats~! I'm glad someone is seeing some action against these many counterfeiters~! |

Re: Debrajc As Bobby said the reporting link is no longer monitored. This was a thread from last March (I used to get similar replies back then as well). The group policing the counterfeits on the coin section of ebay was disbanded a few months ago (Which is why you aren't seeing the piece you are reporting being removed) and now the coin section is becoming overrun with counterfeits. SOMETMES if they get a lot of reports on the same auction they will remove it, but it isn't easy. |
