1853 Was A Very Good Year

I'm not sure why, but I seem to have more coins in my type collection minted in 1853 than any other year. Part of that is because of the "Arrows & Rays" variety of quarters and half dollars that was only minted that year, but I think the rest is just coincidental. I don't quite have a full type set for 1853, but it's getting close:

RPD = repunched date

"Repunched Dates can be accidental but most are caused by a mint employee correcting a blundered date that was punched to weakly or incorrectly with a second punching of the date.

Evidence of the first date punch will usually be slight, but sometimes heavy, but can be seen near and around the date digits."
