Hello. What do you think about this 51-g NJC? At first moment I was sure it is genuine coin - surface looks very convincing to me. But after closer look I saw some differences with other 51-g. I showed you at last picture where I see difference. Please tell me, is this is possible, that Maris 51-g had two different dies? Or maybe it is very old counterfeit? I might be wrong, but in my opinion surface looks too old to be a copy from China. Weight is ca 10g and diamater ca 29mm. I know that weight and diameter was different for another Maris types, so I don't know if this is correct. Thank you for your help.

I don't think it's genuine. Diagnostically, and having been the only die used for the obverse of 51-g, it doesn't match up.

This seems to be a common die marriage that people like to fake. So much that is so wrong.

When I see a colonial that looks so genuine, and almost but not quite a known die variety, without the word COPY, I think Peter Rosa, the master craftsman of Becker Reproductions. His dies are still in use by his nephew at coinreplicas.com:

It looks like a thicker, heavier replica, and not one of non-copper as some of these are made.
I vote older than a modern replica.

That's my point, v.
Rosa was making his copies in the mid-20th century, with loving detail and a great deal of pride in his work. He stopped only when the law demanded he stamp COPY in the field of his coins (he had campaigned that the word go on the edge, so as not to spoil the design). This may be one of those old, original reproductions, rather than a new Coin Replicas one. The devices, I think you'll agree, are a perfect match.

Thank you for your help. In your opinion, this "coin" has some value, because of its history?

It does have some collector value. Not only is the real coin pretty rare, yours does not state "COPY" thus making it slightly desirable to those who want one but just can't afford the real deal plus it's on thicker stock of what looks like copper.
