Hello. Once again, I need your advice. I bought this 5c for 40$ and I was quite happy with this purchase. But when I finally got the coin, I am thinking about returning it. Nickel is graded as problem free example (polish grading), but one thing is disturbing me - please take a look at this strange thing near "C" in "AMERICA". I think it is a very small surface damage. Also, the coin has some glue near the rim, in my opinion somebody made mistake during "slabbing" the coin. Seller told me, that I can return coin. What do you think, I should send back this nickel or keep it? Thank you for your answers.

Personally, I would return it. You'll always know that PMD is there, and I don't believe you'll ever be 100% happy with it. Besides, there looks to be a scratch on the obverse through the 3 in the date

The first thing I noticed was the apparent "staple scratch" across the "3" or is that on the holder?

There are far too many "problem free" 1883 NC 5C out there if the aforementioned bother you...it would bother me too.

That "thing" is PMD. The coin is attractive but if it bothers you then it will probably continue doing so, you could return it.

I would return it. If it bothers you now, it will nag at you more in the future.

I agree with the others. The glue won't go anywhere and you will keep looking at other examples you wish you had instead.

I also agree with the others. If it bothers you now, it will probably just nag at you.

Something I learned a long time ago. If you have to talk yourself into buying or keeping a coin...you shouldn't.

As a courtesy, I would let the seller know that you are returning the coin and why.
