Hi All

Here are 2 1960 D cents with plugged 9s. Again I'm wondering if they are worth anything in their current condition!

I think the second one is also a woody.

Thanks for your help!

As stated, die chips. Kinda common no added value. I don't see any woody effect on either coin.

Thanks for the info! My grandfather apparently liked coins with die chips!

The second coin has thin diagonal striping, most visible in the date closeups. The photos do diminish the effect.

i agree witht the "no premium value" opinion...however - that said, I do keep most of the die chip coins, and most other noticable errors coins in a plastic coffee container.

i like them - and there is very little expense - and very little storage space required to keep them.

just my opinion...

with this too. Collect what you like regardless of value, or collectability. If you like it, keep it.

There are now a large growing population of error coin collectors. Maybe those are not worth a lot now but possibly in the near future, those error collectors will be paying for those. Keep them. Nothing to loose.

Thanks guys! I searched three rolls marked "1960 small date cents" yesterday and I'm pretty sure that none of the coins were actually the small date variety, but I did find three more of the plugged 9s! I wonder if they would all be from the same die.
