Any thoughts on a specific id? Authentic?

AE 19-20mm. follis 3.38gm. Siscia mint. (VF) Well centered nice specimen. Original patina and tone over ancient silvering.

Can you please tell me if this coin has been 'waxed'?

Siscia RIC VII 155 Licinius II. AE3. 320 AD. LICINIVS-IVN NOB C, laureate bust right / CAESARVM NOSTRORVM around VOT dot V, within wreath, star in badge at the top of the wreath, DSIS in ex.

Yes, it looks to me like this coin...though it is a bit blurry and I cannot see the dot between VOT and V....funny how the squinty eye trick reveals more detail!

Certainly authentic

Licinius II, Siscia, either RIC 155 or 162 depending on the mint mark

RIC 155 = delta SIS
RIC 162 = delta SIS star

A dot between the VOT and V is a centering dot and has nothing to do with the RIC classification. The dot and/or star that is described inside the badge at the top of the wreath is what affects the classification

RIC 155 with centering dot but note the 'star' in the badge
Licinius-II?
RIC 162 with centering dot but note the 'dot' on the badge
Licinius-II?

Ahh. Thanks for explaining that to me BD. I took that description from wildwinds and it is a bit misleading as it clearly describes the dot between the VOT and V as though that was a relevant part of the description, not just a centering dot..

It definitely is confusing because on other issues like the VOT XX etc., there are dots within the wreath that DO affect classification

How would I know if it has been waxed? Can I clean this coin, or should I leave it alone?
