I received today this banknote from the bank. I wonder what did someone make to the bill .... it can't be straightened, it's stuck, very firm. It's because of extreme temperature? Water?

Maybe someone used heat on it, crumpled it, then left it to cool. You know, when you melt plastic then leave it to cool again, it's stuck in that new shape.

i vote lighter held 6 inches or so below it. I had been wondering if the bank would still accept them if you put one in the oven and made shrink art with them?

I have ironed polymer banknotes.
The result is quite comical: done carefully, they shrink to about a third of their original dimensions.
From a legal point of view, they are still fully recognised as legal tender.

Zonad microwaved a $100 bill... the results were quite interesting...

Did it shrink? Melt into a gooey mess?

Explode?
