Just wondering if anyone's ever had a solid circulated bill like this and any idea of its value... We just put it on ebay. Thanks

I had a near miss once 9999990.
I'm guessing you'll get $400 - $500 for yours.
Nice find!

Someone was telling me the fact that the bill was circulated made it more rare... seeing that bank tellers usually take them all out.. Is this true?

"that will never happen".. then 2 days later.. we got the sevens... couldn't believe it... CRAZY... What's the odds..

Condition is everything... so the fact that it has been circulated doen't mean it's rare.. just means you won't get as close to full book value for it..

Book value is around $550-$600 on a note in this condition.

If this bill being circulated made it more valuable, everyone with an uncirculated note would fold their in half, and dog-ear a corner to increase the value. Yes, it's my understanding that these are generally pulled from stacks before they ever reach circulation, but yours is not more valuable because in was circulated - it's the opposite.

Well when I was saying the bill is rare.. I knew it wouldn't be worth more.. was just stating how rare it was to find this in circulation and was really looking to hear a few stories (if any) of this type of find.

It's tough to find a note in circulation... for the exact reason that a solid serial number is something that is neat. I would think that almost anyone that recognizes that they have a note that is a solid would probably just hold onto it as a keepsake even if they're not a collector.
Now serious collectors (brickers and bundlers) are looking for these exact notes as they command quite a premium. This is where I suspect most are found. And they're slowly released into the population years after so that they will command such a premium.
I don't think many bank personel take these notes... It's been my experience that bank personel have to follow some pretty tight rules and if a "customer" comes in asking for something in particular and they have already put it aside.. they have to sell it to the customer for face value. I believe this because I have gone to the bank and bought silver dollars and half dollars for face, bills as old as from 1937 for face... so it's my understanding that bank personel is not taking them.. it's the brickers, bundlers and just the average joe that may stumble upon one.. and thenk keeps it.

Thanks I learned something there... I really thought tellers were taking them and selling them. But there are people just buying bundles and looking for the right bundle.. That would be pricey... I guess they would just cash each bundle back in...

I went into the bank to get ten consecutive serial# $100 bills when they first came out and someone in the bank had removed the radar note that was suppose to be in my bundle. Bank employees do go through bills on occasion.
