I would grade it AU55....at first.
However, because of the stains, I would bump it down to AU50.

This year is known for two things:
1. Some of the planchets were below standard.
2. There were a number of obverse double dies.

I can't tell from the photos, but you may have a double die. You might want to reference the ones listed by Fivaz-Stanton and Fletcher for them.

Great details in this example. Even with the foreign material it's (personally) very pleasing. I'd consider an acetone bath & distilled rinse. The only issue is if there is corrosion below the material this will make it visible. Without it, you still have the unsightly stains. I would roll the dice... May be a diamond in the rough.

AU50 max for me. I see a few hits on the obverse. Not sure what to make of the stains.

This is an exmple of one we ought to discuss in both a technical and Net sense. I'm with Nickel Guy on the technical AU55, but not conversant enough with the issue to discuss Net. Net evaluations ought to encompass rarity and demand; some issues lose far less value than others.

I'm not the best when giving the exact grade but it no doubt looks AU to me. I also think an acetone bath would help its appearance.

I think a low AU grade, details (stains) would be OK.

I am not conversant enough with this issue either, to make a good comment as to what extent the stains affect the value.

Thanks a lot for all your replies!
I didn't expect the possibilty of this being a DDO.
Any ideas on how I can determine wether this is a DDO or not?
I tried to take some close up pictures
