I think I can see where it was put together (which means you took some good photo's) so I will guess this was a 96 nickel and the 99 side was the one that was placed in the recessed part of the coin after they put it on a lathe or how ever they do it. I haven't found anything like that in change or anything around here, pretty cool to see one that came out of a roll
Odd coin. Most of the double headed or double tailed ones I've seen have a line on the rim where somehow two halves were put together. don't know how they cut them in half but someone sure does a great job. Lots of the hollowed out one are a cent on one side and a dime on the other. Magic shop in my area is presently out of all of them and they tell me there is a back order for them.
