Krusti-Koin Valued Member United States 166 Posts	Posted 03/10/2015 12:50 pm Hello fellow collectors: I am confused about this coin. It has a area of relief under Liberty's forearm on the obverse. It is in the shape of a triangle, and I make the assumption that it is relief, as it shares the lighting highlights with the other devices. It also has a doubled line on the left side. Could this be a die clash? I don't understand what I am viewing here, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff

eagle_eye_18 Valued Member United States 449 Posts	Posted 03/10/2015 12:56 pm Yes, looks like a die clash to me. This occurs when the dies collide without a planchet in between causing an imprint of each die to be transferred to one another. Report this Post to the Staff

valleyco Valued Member 109 Posts	Posted 03/10/2015 1:10 pm The shape of the clash matches with the "armpit" of the eagle on the reverse. I believe I see another clash mark moving diagonally upward from Liberty's wrist. You will probably find other clash marks on the reverse. Report this Post to the Staff
