The coins look to be in the Fine category and you got them for $2.30 + $1.99 shipping. Looks like a good deal to me. You could probably find them a bit cheaper at a coin show, but if there is no show ongoing in your area you are out of luck. The bottomline with a small dollar purchase is "Are you happy with them". I assume the answer is yes, so definitely a "Good Buy"!

The coins are closer to VG than fine ,,but the cost was fairly reasonable slightly to the high side but not real far .

are you planning on putting together a set of circulated Mercury dimes ?

I dont know what I want to do yet, I just enjoy looking at the coins for flaws, and looking up their value. I just bought a 2008 RedBook and a magnifing glass. I am thinking of going to the bank and ask for a bunch of circulated change to sort through.

based on this answer I have a suggestion for you !

Take some time before you start to buy to figure out what you want to collect ,,get a few series specific reference guides and study those for awhile , learn to grade a bit for that series and then start looking for some coins to buy .

By gaining some knowledge about the series you choose to collect you will save yourself some money and alot of disappointments in your buying experiances !

Just a suggestion but one with alot of experiance to back it up .

By the way Merc's are one of my favorites and if you choose to collect them ,, I'm always available to help !
