I want your opinion. Is it good to place silver bars or rounds in 3 day auctions as opposed to longer auction times? With the volatility of precious metals, putting them up longer display times means your auction's value could go up and down considerably where as 1 day auction it would be subject to that day's change. Also would you attract buyers that would be willing to pay more if left longer but either way still hrut you if spot prices goes down? I got some silver in hard and have been selling some here and there and with my last auction I saw the value of the lot go from $80 to $90 while in other previous ones I've seen spot go down and the resulting closing sale price was lower than average as well. Anyway what I really am getting at, is what time period of auction is best to put silver bars and rounds at? 1 day auctions perhaps?
I agree with GO, as long as you are getting spot+ at the end and not paying more in expenses than you would if you sold to a dealer. Sometimes for me the amount of time to list exceeds what I pay in lower revenues when selling to a dealer.
