I do not go out of my way for CRH-ing. But if I am at the bank, I will ask for a roll or two of half dollars.

Pacificoin, I'll assume your comment was made with the best of intentions. I'll offer a perspective as someone who has been around for awhile and currently not CRHing. In my attempt to balance work, home, kids, life, hobbies, etc... I can't justify actively CRHing right now. However, I fully intend to get back in the hobby when it makes sense for me and my circumstances.
CRHing is seldom done with a sole purpose in mind. It's not just about fun or just about money. Most people have numerous and differing reasons to hunt. You can say "You'd be better off working for minimum wage". That's probably a true statement if time and money are the only consideration. However, most don't consider this a job, even if the money plays a role in justification for the hobby. I can't imagine a minimum wage job that offer the enjoyment, fun, or flexibility that CRHing offers. Some are doing it as a cheap way to add to their collection. Some CRH just to stave off boredom. Others use it to occupy their time so they don't spend money doing other hobbies. The point is that most of us have a different story and it's probably more complex than simply categorizing it as work/fun/job/hobby.

To me, I consider CRHing more like playing the lottery (scratch tickets) however when I "lose" I can take it back and get another one for free. I am fortunate to not have a family, so my only real limitations are my work, and friends.
I Personally do not subscribe to your thinking there is stuff out there, just last week I got 110 silver dimes out of a block of $50, a few months ago in 1 box of quarters I got almost 100 silvers.
Yes these finds are not the norm, however I do average over $2 in silver face value a week, searching quarters and dimes.
If you all don't want to search that is just fine with me, because it means there will be even higher ROI for me.

If you just do pennies it's not bad. I keep the coppers, LWCs, BU LMCs, CNDs, and a few other oddities I find. I then take the discards to coinstar for Amazon credit which there is no fee for . I shop on Amazon enough that ~$100 a month credit is easily spent. Obviously this wouldn't work if you are going through a ton of coin or going through halves or something of higher value.

I was about to quit the beginning of this month after a horrible March.
The weather is warming up, I didn't ride at all last year because I had to pick up and dump just about every day but if I quite for the summer I could this year, it is a pain to have to stop everyday, etc.
The only reason I don;t quit is I am afraid if I tell my 2 pickup banks to stop ordering for me for a few months they may cut me off.

Jack - it's not the same, but there's just enough room in my S2000 to carry a box or two. You might opt for another outdoor cruising experience and still support your CRH needs.
I had to chuckle with regards your logic; I feel the same way. Keep a steady stream of coins else they might just remember how nice it was before all the coins started moving through the vault!

I've thrown $800 in halves (40lbs) in a back pack before and rode to a dump bank more than a few times. If I rigged something up to dump $2K - $3K at a time it would be like riding with a passenger.
