Poll Question
Many of the members have had some difficulty filling out the Birthday section of their profiles. In answer to a question that came up, I thought it might be fun to see the age grouping of our members. No Names needed. Just select an age group and let's look at our spread (No pun intended). Results

Great idea RGGoodie! This should be interesting if we can get everyone to participate. The next great question would be how long have you actively collected coins? That would also be great information.

When everyone who is going to vote has voted, it should prove to be an interesting exercise in demographics.

With only 32 votes in (at the time I voted), I am pleased to see a fair number of respondents (12%) are 20 years old or less.

Richard, I'm so glad you started this poll. The results are very interesting. It's so great to see some younger collectors. We certainly have a good mix!

In another coin forum, the oldest was 71 (me, unfortunately), the youngest was 16, the mean was 39.6, the median was 43, and the mode was 43.

Seems us old folks are holding out own! Great to be first once in a while!

I'm surprised the majority of the people here are older folks.
Before I moved here, in another city, I went to a coin club. Everyone there must've been 60 to 70 +, I mean some REALLY old folks. Maybe some in their 80's.
I'm 17. They wanted me to pay 80 bucks to join! No way in heck

There's only 5 in my age group. But I guess most of the older coin collectors have been collecting for a long time too, which means lot of great advice from experienced collectors.

I think the statistics show two things sofar Collecting grows with age and income and finally time away from other things that need immidiate attention like babies, children etc A second thing it shows it that at a certain age people do not have a computer or do not know what it is My mother at 94 never saw a computer and if she did she probably thought it was a television

I'm at the upper limit of my age group, and it's nice to see that there's a good chunk of us in my group and the next one up! Very interesting! Rachel [:p]
