I just received this coin yesterday. It's in a PCGS "rattler" slab. I bought it for a fair price for the grade, but I thought I saw that it was a 1883/2 overdate in the picture. Specifically a FS-305 or Fletcher 07. This variety has the 2 only visible under the 3. Sometimes there is a portion of the 2 sticking out of the bottom of the 3 to the southeast, but usually just inside the 3. When I got the coin the entire date looks doubled which makes me think its not a 1883/2. I think the date is not true doubling but actually a "strike double".
So grade 'er up I'll post the label tonight. And any comments about the overdate would be appreciated.

Looks like a repunched date, not 83/82. Jeff

The motto looks a bit doubled also.

Nice to have that one on a problem free holder with the rub marks on the reverse.

Nice pics also.

The Pics courtesy of SsuperDave and rpmsrpms. Without their help the pics would be quite different!
So I was considering sending it in to get reslabbed and maybe get a variety label on, but maybe not if you think the reverse would make the coin undergrade.
