I just received this coin yesterday. It's in a PCGS "rattler" slab. I bought it for a fair price for the grade, but I thought I saw that it was a 1883/2 overdate in the picture. Specifically a FS-305 or Fletcher 07. This variety has the 2 only visible under the 3. Sometimes there is a portion of the 2 sticking out of the bottom of the 3 to the southeast, but usually just inside the 3. When I got the coin the entire date looks doubled which makes me think its not a 1883/2. I think the date is not true doubling but actually a "strike double". So grade 'er up I'll post the label tonight. And any comments about the overdate would be appreciated.
The Pics courtesy of SsuperDave and rpmsrpms. Without their help the pics would be quite different! So I was considering sending it in to get reslabbed and maybe get a variety label on, but maybe not if you think the reverse would make the coin undergrade.
