Sap Moderator Australia 16982 Posts	Posted 01/10/2008 8:24 pm As far as I can see, these are two different slabbers named CCGS - one is short for "Certified Coin Grading Company" - the one with the maroon ribbon logo, in Amazon's link - and the second is (presumably) "Courtney's Cottage Grading Company", the one philney is spruiking. Which raises another question. According to my calculations, there are 388,800 possible different four-letter acronyms. Why would they pick one that was (a) already in use by a minor rival, and (b) only one letter different from the acronym of one of their major rivals? It seems to me that if they really were trying to start out an authentic new TPG, they'd pick a much more unique acronym. Or be really original, and not use a four-letter acronym at all. philney Valued Member United States 231 Posts	Posted 01/11/2008 05:05 am Hey guys, wait, I never expected this kind of reaction. I guess there might be two different companies here. It is definitely not in Michigan, they are located in Crawfordsville, Indiana. I have a slab here and they are tamper-proof and have an interlocking feature on the exterior that allows you to keep all of your slabs together, but as far as I can tell you can't open them without damaging them. I will check back in the morning and if anyone can tell me how to get a picture on here, let me know. Just for the record, I really just saw an opportunity to contribute to a discussion and thought it would be helpful. Every post I look at either already has a well informed reply or asks something I am unsure of and cannot answer, so when I saw this I thought "alright! I seems most of us, including myself, assumed you were talking of Certified Coin Grading Company out of Michigan, and that is a sore subject. Posting pictures would definitely clear the air. Use this, Uploading images, to post some pics. The system is very picky with file size, so make sure you crop out all background and resize to under 100k. My system only allow about 75k and when they post they are close to 100. While I do think you are advertising for what may be a friend down the street to gain some traction against the big 4 services, I think a picture of the slab, and closeups of the coins that have been graded will speak volumes here. Please understand with a forum this size we get a lot of fly by night folks just popping in to defend their basement slabbing services to no avail. The proof is in the pictures. I have family there as well as in Markleville and Indianapolis. I am from South Bend. There is not much going on in Indiana... I am curious to see the pictures and am giving this company the benefit of the doubt until I see otherwise.
