coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 09/24/2015 12:16 am The widening of devices can come from a few things I can think of. 1. Circulation damage and wear can flatten/remove the upper parts of devices. 2. A struck through error can also make the devices look wider. (because the tapered devices are block from forming leaving the wider base of the devices) 3. Die wear/die deterioration can make the devices look taller/wider on the side facing the rim. But on doubled dies, the widening includes the taper of the devices showing them wider and still narrow at the tops of the devices. Report this Post to the Staff
