They replace the dies after 600 or 700 coins when they do proofs or at least the US mint does, I assume the RCM does something similar. Not sure they would stretch out a die set to 1500, although they might but definitely not to 3000.

I know someone previously suggested it here on CCF, but I haven't seen any verifiable reference. Can you provide?

This is was my assumption: same design on same coin size = same dies. Of cause they should replace the "tool" in the minting process, but nothing need to re-design and re-create.

Lostwords said correctly: not everyone could afford these 5oz's. Are the the 1oz gold Proof coins popular (cause they usually sold-out)?

Anyway, whatever coloured coins will be, imo, almost nothing can beat these 2015 designs
(have only 50c to show):

Great camera shots silveroid - you've captured the stunning gold contrasting on fine silver finish...on a full 5 oz'er which is what elevates this version above the new painted ones...

What is the source of the statement about the RCM using the same dies for the new set?

I know someone previously suggested it here on CCF, but I haven't seen any verifiable reference. Can you provide?

The information about the same dies being used came from this forum. No verifiable reference besides the knowledge of other people on CCF.

Thank you , Electrum.

This is the most detailed design in our "circulation" coinage, and it looks great on the big coin with the royal-gold.

The coloring, will not be bad, but for example will not able be to show the "raised design".

Personally, I don't think there will be much increase in price. Keep in mind not many people can afford these 5oz at the current price to complete the whole set. in fact, some of the coins were not sold out

Looking at completed sales on ebay, some of the Big Coins are selling at issue price or slightly above that.

The only box set sold on ebay went for $3200, well below issue price when eBay/PayPal fees are factored in.

@ Silveriod the last photo is absolutely breathtaking. If I had the spare cash Id sure get one. The black background makes the gold stand out even more! The fifty cent coin is my favorite design, a shame its not circulating anymore. Id like to see a gold edition of the 2002 fifty cent, its the best of the fifty cent coins. Maybe they could do a gilded 1 oz set of this denomination.

Thank you, PocketChange

I haven't had spare budget for this....so, this is "transformation" of my 2013 O Canada set and couple additional 1oz coins.

Yup that 50 cent selectively plated big coin looks great.

Hadn't noticed anyone post a pic of the new 25 for 25 so figured I'd add one. Received yesterday.

It's not the worst of the cartoonish coins I've seen - reminds me a little of the style of the older 25 cent Canada Day quarters.

Speaking of going downhill, did anyone else just search Google for "the country of Kiribati"?

Niue probably quite to accept "doesn't mater what" on the coin.

Sure but why is the RCM selling this stuff?

Oh yeah, because they make money doing it.

Hmmm so I can legally deface one of those coins in Canada since the RCM doesn't produce them? Not that I would...

Great shots of that Big 50 Cent coin Silveroid, a real beauty.

Not sure if this is November release, but here is the
Year of the Monkey for 2016.
The fifth in the 1/2 ounce series of coins.
