I have a penny ,date is 199 can't see the last no.think it might be a 2.The coin is like new brilliant.Around the outer edge is perfect but li in Liberty is not there, then at the top you can only see "in God w" .The back of the coin is perfect brilliant condition.. Anyone ever see one like that?

yes, could be a Struck Through Grease or the 2 has worn out. I've seen instances of wearing out where the rest of coin looks fine and just that last digit seems gone. Pretty common and no real premium for them.

If it were wear it would be all over .The raised little bead on the edge would be flattend and its not. With the condition of this coin it had to be made like that.

It is somewhat difficult to diagnose what you have without seing a picture but just going by description I would say that it is either Struck Through Grease or it could be an issue with the plating. Especially if there is a raised line going around the inside rim of the coin. I posted something similar if you wanted too go back a couple of pages and check out that post. Subject was "raised inner rim".

I handle and examine thousands of coins ,I know what wear looks like and I've seen the last number of the date worn, expecialy on dimes but this coin doesn't have any wear. The little flair on the edge protects the words "in god we trust" look at 30-40 50's pennies and you can read it on all like the day they were minted. Uhm,thanks for getting short with me.

A coin with single digits gone is grease - nothing else. Dies don't wear out like that.
