Has anyone here considered purchasing a Goodacre Presentation Sacagawea dollar? I've been looking for one lately, but when I mention it to a lot of dealers they seem to get a sour look on their face like its not a legitimate coin. I understand the coins was burnished; however, that doesn't make a difference to me since it was done at the mint as part of the process of preparing the coin before it was sent to Glenna Goodacre. Furthermore, its now in the 2008 RedBook, which is the reason I'm considering adding it to my collection. Has anyone else run into any resistance regarding the coin or is it my imagination?

I saw it in the RedBook too...... but I'm only collecting the Sac's in mint and proof sets. Those would be pretty rare though I think and very interesting to have one...... good luck on gettin' it and hope you have no trouble ! Would ebay have one I wonder ?

What actually is a "Goodacre Presentation Sacagawea dollar"? I'm not the biggest Sacagewa fan but I am trying to keep a running collection of them and have never heard of this "Goodacre Presentation Sacagawea dollar" before? Pics? Links? Info? thanks?

The designer, Glenna Goodacre, was paid 5,000 golden dollars especially struck for her. I am sure people can fill in the story more, because I cannot find my link with all the details!

There are about two or three different Goodacre slab varieties which is the only reason I would want one. If it wasn't for the slab I would have no interest in them because I consider them to just be an altered coin because of the burnishing.
