I've been looking for a higher quality 22D for months. They are VERY difficult to find in higher grades for obvious reasons. This is the best one I've seen in my search so I grabbed it:

You're a tough grader atlashealth. A 1922D is very difficult to find in this grade.

I am fairly new a grading Lincoln's, But from the look of the nicely defined lines in the wheat stalks I would say XF40. Also appears to be relatively few marks which makes it that much better.

Hey Bad, I am having a hard time with the lighting you have on them, currently. I have not been comfortable with my grades. Any chance for a little more light, esp on the obverse.

Thad,

HABIB is right! Mine is nowhere close to this one. I would say this is a strong XF-40. What is going on between PLURIBUS and UNUM though?

Drool...

Help me out with the "cleaning" comment. I am trying to learn to spot cleaned coins. Lightened flat area in front of Abe's face? I can't tell if the highest areas of relief are shinier than the rest. Thank you.

Dead, if you look at the area around the date, you will see it is much darker and has a square pattern to it. If you can imagine, when this coin was rubbed on, they could not get completely up against the devises and this caused the obvious difference in color. This is always a good indicator that the coin has been cleaned. You can see the same effect in the letter of " In God We Trust"

Nothing. When I took these pics I just ripped the coins out of some nasty, old 2x2's. Whoever put them in there wasn't careful and the 2x2's were of subpar quality. I'm going to retake the pictures after I remove all the loose debris.
