Could I Get Some Opinions On This 2001-D Roosevelt Dime?

Pictures may not be the best I can upload more if needed and I won't be rude if this turns out to be fake or for any other reason and I hope you can do do the same. So I found this dime in my front yard, at first I thought I was a penny and thougt I might as well see if I found something since roll hunting wasn't getting me anywhere. Well turns out it wasn't a penny at all, It was a dime. Now I have not weighed it so I cannot tell you this information. It appears that both the obverse and reverse clad are missing completely. biokemist6 Bedrock of the Community United States 12437 Posts	Posted 02/01/2016 1:08 pm That is a typical color for cupronickel alloy coins exposed to soil, it is environmental damage. A coin missing both clad layers would be significantly light and thin and the strike details would be weak due to the planchet thinness. Report this Post to the Staff

Thought I found one last week myself till I weighed it and that put an end to it plus it was the same thickness as other dimes-would be about 20% underwieght Report this Post to the Staff
