Hi everyone!

I recently purchased this toonie on ebay for a womping 5$!! Is it a score? Or a bust? The reason I purchased it, is because coin collecting to me is kind of like Pokemon..... "Got To Catch Them All" . It was strange so I grabbed it. Can anyone figure this out?

***If you look closely it looks like "Canada" was printed twice...That's what influenced my purchase decision.

PS. I have not yet received the item, it's en route. So that's it for pics for now sorry

Thanks

This is a vise job. Somebody either whacked another coin onto your coin several times with a hammer or squished them in a vice. If you look at Pic #3, the lettering is a mirror image. If it were a true double, which your coin isn't anything close to resembling, It would be the same image, in the same orientation struck twice.

Thanks AG!

Good to know so I don't make the same mistake. It's kind of cool looking though.

No problem, I learned from my many mistakes. I might have been fooled by something like this at one point. The trick is to make sure those mistakes don't cost you a lot of money. Coin collecting can be a very rewarding hobby, the key is to inform yourself as much as possible before making any significant purchases. You're a member at one of the best resources in the world for coin collecting so that's a great start. Feel free to ask as many questions as you can.
