There was a big stink around here (Dallas) last year when a restaurant (Pizza Patron) began accepting Pesos. The news was national. So many people said they would boycott the restaurant in protest of such an unAmerican activity. However, plenty of people decided to go there simply to show support for the owner. Since the large majority of this restaurant's customers were Mexican anyway, the few American customers lost were more than made up for by the huge increase in Mexican customers. Besides, the owner got free national coverage in which he admitted that very few pesos actually got spent in the restaurant anyway.

When on vacation in Mexico last December I never even bothered to convert a single dollar! I paid all transactions in good old American dollars and got Pesos in change. How unMexican of them!!
