Hello! I'm new to the forum. Primarily collect half dollars pre-Kennedy.

Came across a 1987 P Jefferson nickel with a flaw. It appears to be two nickels sandwiched together, one thicker than the other. The strike has created a raised edge that creates a "saucer" effect with the thicker "sandwich" having a slightly more raised edge. Because of the deep edge, the words around the edge are on the slope of the coin leading to the edge.

There is a nick in the coin between the "E" and "P" of E PLURIBUS.

Couldn't find any other examples but to be honest not sure what this flaw is called. Any knowledge of such a flaw?

It's not a partial collar error. Your nickel was rolled and squeezed in the horizontal plane outside the Mint.
