Metalman,

I can't get a good read on the wheat stalks. Based on the detectable wear and that shiner on the reverse rim I will call this one a net VF-25.

Thanks,

Jim

Gbchaosmaster,

Please sell me all of your G-4 coins.

I might knock this one down to VF-20 after Metalman explained that the wheat stalks were flat but I would venture to guess that this one will clock a hair over G-4. Just my opinion.

Dang, too bad about the rim damage as that's a very well-struck obverse 22D. The second 2 and the mintmark are exceptionally nice for this date. Good, uncleaned original color too, I like it. Hard to tell much from the pics, but the U in United is weak, indicating the reverse strike is a bit weak or the reverse die was more worn than the obverse. I suspect a worn reverse die because the obverse strike is so nice. If that's the case, the reverse die weakness could be mistaken for wear. I'd give it between an F15 and VF25. With no wheatlines, wear or not, it's not going to make EF IMO.

I'm at 20/25, Rick, Great raw coin in spite of the rim ding. Looking at the strength of the strike on the reverse from top to bottom, I wonder if a lot of the weakness is not from the strike and the position of the coin. The top of the strike is much stronger than the bottom. If that is the case, I would move it into the 30s.

I'd also go with VF20-25 (with rim damage)

Jim and 1sikevo, I was netgrading the huge dent in the rim. It'd be a F15 otherwise. Still, it wouldn't even come close to making a slab.

I'm with the "Fines" on this one, damage notwithstanding.
