Rainman Valued Member United States 294 Posts	Posted 02/12/2008 7:39 pm I have noticed on ebay a lot of counter stamp Half Cent coins .Some of these go for a low price and some go for higher price than what the coin is worth .Could someone tell what the counter stamp thing is ?To me it looks like someone turned a a nice coin into a token. gbchaosmaster Valued Member United States 328 Posts	Posted 02/12/2008 8:01 pm A counterstamp designates the use of a coin in another country, a private change in value of a coin, etc. Some people collect counterstamps, so they can hold a premium, but other collecters see a counterstamped coin as a worthless, ruined coin.
