Quote: Outstanding! Thanks jbuck: that "solid 8" $5 came from my Lotto ticket change. I gave the teller a $10 for a $5 ticket & she handed me that solid radar (which is a limp VG-F note at best). Talk about being shocked (especially after recycling hundreds of thousands of notes in the past 30 years & only getting the odd 2 digit radars out of my sweat & toil). My best "change" yet!

That the best solid number you can get all 8s. By the condition is unbelievable that it was in circulation for that long and no one noticed.

Quote: By the condition is unbelievable that it was in circulation for that long and no one noticed. I felt exactly like you at first ShareBear & when I stated my feelings (plus glee ) for finding this solid radar, my wife just rolled her eyes & shook her head. She then asked me who actually checks all their notes & examines the serial numbers? There's just a few coin collectors & even fewer banknote collectors. I would be surprised if we make up 1% of the population. I'd also be willing to bet that out of that 1% only a tiny fraction actually keep active with the hobby (rather than dabble from time to time- like the majority of hobbyist). And if you factor in the fact that only a minor portion of CDNs (ages 16-35 + seniors over 55) prefer to use cash, as described in this CPMF thread ("Places not accepting cash"), its no small wonder that hundreds of people used this note but didn't check its number. It's just my luck to find it after its been so well worn! . But at least I rescued it from the shredders! Here's the CPMF thread & check @Redlock's 2 links from the Bank of Canada study on cash use. Canadians are addicted to debit/credit cards & anything but cash use. https://cdnpapermoney.com/index.php...msg71138#newHere's a PDF " 2021 Methods of Payment Survey Report" released by BoC staffers: https://www.bankofcanada.ca/2022/12...per-2022-23/ Although things are even worse today (for less cash use) in 2010 (to 2012) when I found this note, cash use was still on a steady decline.

So close! But at least it's a binary.

Nice binary & old 1000 Marks @Lucky Cuss! The old German repeater I got (posted on the 7th of Dec 2022) came from an ebay seller for the price of a regular note (that's why I wrote it was a "nice surprise"). I guess he appreciated all my repeat business (or just didn't notice). http://goccf.com/t/263327&whichpage=10#3750775

Just FYI @Lucky Cuss a lot of collectors only consider SN with 1's & 0's as "binary" from machine code.
All other digits are "2 digit" serial numbers (so it would be more apt to call it a 2 digit SN).
