Dinkhart New Member United States 41 Posts	Posted 07/19/2016 12:47 pm This was in my dad's collection. '55 S was one he always dreamed of finding in circulation but never did. Anyways I've not a clue where this came from nor what would cause the neat yellowish coloration on the bottom half of the obverse. Improperly mixed alloys maybe? Kinda reminds me of the woodgrain toning on 1908-9 S cents. Hopefully it's visible in this pic, it's much more dramatic in hand! Report this Post to the Staff

Something else I noticed on the obverse is what appears to be a Cud on the first of the two "5"s in the date. Not sure if it shows up in the picture too well. Report this Post to the Staff
