This was in my dad's collection. '55 S was one he always dreamed of finding in circulation but never did. Anyways I've not a clue where this came from nor what would cause the neat yellowish coloration on the bottom half of the obverse. Improperly mixed alloys maybe? Kinda reminds me of the woodgrain toning on 1908-9 S cents. Hopefully it's visible in this pic, it's much more dramatic in hand!
