In the past, I didn't like any of the Barber coins. Most of the ones I saw, or had an opportunity to buy were heavily worn. The faces were usually just a silhouette and the letters and rims were often missing. Since I've gotten older, I've had an opportunity to buy nicer quality Barber coins, and I must say that the half dollar set has kind of grown on me. I started assembling a short set in about vg condition. I've found it quite a challenge to find coins that have full rims and full lettering, expecially on the reverses.
I have a long way to go with the set, but it's been an interesting journey so far...

I looked at that web site and just can't imagine how my vote would matter. Now if everyone in the USA and maybe Canada and Mexico also voted, that might help. If everyone on this or all coin forums voted, I really don't see how this would help determine anything. The guy right next door to me could have a million Barber dimes and not voted so not much realibility in such a poll. Fun maybe, but nothing else. Sort of like asking people in New York City how many cows are on the average dairy farm.

Well, I did the survey for the one Barber dime I have, a 1911 AG-3 in my 7070. I found in it a roll about fifteen years ago. For that reason, I have a hard time wanting to upgrade it.

No problem. I have always suspected my "find" was someone's throwaway, so I decided to keep it and give it a home.

I've got a total of 161 Barber coins (70 halves, 60 dimes, and 31 quarters) so I did the survey as a guest. Hope it helps your group; although, as was pointed out, there will be alot of people who hold Barber coins that won't even bother with the survey.

Then you have to consider the young minded people that will just put they have a specific date and not have it also so there is no way this could be considered accurate because there are way to many things that could mess up the totals

Bryan1315 - Too true! There are mean-spirited people the world over who do, or say, something false just to throw a wrench in the gears. Fortunately the real people far outnumber them.
