Since you have some wheat lines, it's a VG-08, according to the ANA standards.

VG-8, the wheat lines and grains are very worn. The obverse is surprisingly sharp still, I would have said F12 if that's the only picture I had.

G04 tops, ouch for 99c?

You can buy a handful for a couple bucks in that condition. I'm selling whole bag of over 1000 for barely 5c apiece! (Trying to that is...)

Sheesh!

Good job! Notice how flattened they are - they are merging and turning flat. Also pay attention to the wheat grains. The lines will wear first and then the grains. The grains are key for me, it's what I inspect closely when I'm deciding if a coin is AU or MS. They seem more sensitive to initial wear than the lines but the lines are actually higher in the design.

Thanks for the input BadThad! That obverse is F12/15 all day, too bad for the reverse.

Only bought it to replace my existing one which was in really ugly condition with lots of corrosion and a cut on the rim. Otherwise, it's hard to beat 99 cents with free shipping.
I only have a couple more "ugly" coins to replace from 1910-1935. Then I will have complete set 1909-1995 except for 09SVDB, 14D and 31S.

Well here we are again with mixed grade opinions from
G-04 to F-15 . I think it's because this Lincoln is screaming for conservation . All it needs is a little Acetone and Verdi-Care . Guaranteed to change some of our minds .

I agree that unlike most LWCs, the obverse grades higher (F-15) than the reverse (VG-8).

Removing surface debris using BadThad's polarity ladder approach, then Verdi-Care is a great idea.
