Well Gang it looks as though it my turn to through a question at you. But we are going to play a little Jeopardy. You must answer this in the form of a question Leave your answer on the thread and a drawing will be held from those who got the answer correct.

Who was Black Diamond?The Buffalo nickelThe Buffalo nickel was first introduced in 1913 and was minted every year until 1938 (except for the years 1922, 1932 and 1933). Coins were struck at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco mints and before the series ended over 1.2 billion pieces were made. These coins, also called Indian Head Nickels, had two distinct looks in their first year of issue. The first showed the buffalo on a mound; on the second, the base was redesigned to a thin line. Designed by James Earl Frasier, the Buffalo nickel is the only coin to picture an animal, besides the eagle, as it’s main focus. The Indian on the front was modeled after 3 different Indians. The Buffalo was modeled after “Black Diamond” in the New York Zoological Gardens.Not bad for an Aussie collector Thanks for making me do some research

Who was Black Diamond?
The Indian Buffalo Nickel
The model for the "tails' side of the coin was a buffalo named Black Diamond, a resident of The New York Bronx Zoo. He was born of stock donated by the Barnum and Bailey circus. In his prime, Black Diamond's coat was unusually dark, and he weighed more than 1500 lbs.
When Black Diamond was about 20 years old he began to look a bit moth eaten, so he was sold to a food supplier. Who slaughtered him and sold steak for a couple of bucks a-pound to local well-heeled New Yorks.
