I found this a while back while CRH. I wanted to know if this is considered a Woody. The difference in color between obverse and reverse is very, very close to how it looks in hand. Thank You for looking.

The lines on your coin are called roller lines. Thought to be caused by Dirty rollers on the Rolling Mill

The appearance of a true woodie is due to an impure alloy mix and has nothing to do with the rollers.

Roller lines are caused by a machine. A "woody" is caused by improper mixing of the copper/tin,zinc alloy.

Well, roller lines are strait like your picture shows and a "woodie" has random lines through it - That's as much as I can explain it.

Thanks Mark! I think I got it, The lines on a Woody are not so uniform or A-symmetrical as those caused by a roller machine.
