My question is regarding Teddy Roosevelt's "right hand "that rests on horn of saddle.
How many fingers / thumbs are there supposed to be ?
In between the saddle horn and his belt buckle?
I have 2 coins side by side & one has 1 digit & one clearly shows 2 digits. Which is correct?

Pictures?

It could be a case of an early die state vs late die state where the details are not as sharp on one coin as the other.
