Be kind I am a newb. Just started into coins and came across this odd one. The date seems to have a line through it and the Y in liberty goes through the rim. It looks like a deep press on that side of the front but the back looks OK. Was this mint made or man made?

Thanks for any assistance

It looks like environmental damage to me. It took a hit on the rim where you can see the top of the letter pushed aside. The lines through the date would be caused by a coin counter or wrapping machine. Keep on looking!

As mentioned on your other post, I think a random hit has pushed a bit of the rim up so that it now looks like an extension of the letter "Y".
