Not sure if I'm asking in the right spot, but knowing 1982 cent year has many different varieties, is it good to hold on to them? copper and non-coppers?

Thanks in advanced!

Other than the super rare 82-D copper small date, no.

The rest have huge montages and there are zillions of them.

Unless you have 67-70 grades, they really are too common for them to become valuable any time this century.

I look at 82's for a couple different errors and of course the odd 82-D small date that weights 3.1 but other than that, I toss them back.
