VF-35 with post mint damage. (Someone carved a backwards G into Lincoln's head there.) Still a great looking coin!

The "carving" looks like someone started to drill a hole in the head and then stopped.

Personally, that little 'carving' doesn't ruin the eye appeal for me. It is an old mark and it has re-toned nicely to match the coin.
Lincoln cents - 2 holes; 1909SVDB/1914D / Jefferson nickels - Done / Roosevelt dimes - Done / Washington quarters - 19 holes /
Kennedy halves - 10 Holes / Buffalo nickels - 10 Holes
Work in progress - Barber/SLQ combined / Indian Head cents / 7070
