What is the meaning of a letter K stamped on the neck of George VI on a 1948 Canadian 5-cent piece? Also, would this have been done after minting ? Thanks

Yes, this was done after the mint.
It's a counterstamp...probably someone just fooling around in their workshop.

There is a whole thread on counterstamp coins if you
want to put yours on there. Don't often see Canadian ones.
