unfortunately the horizontal lines on the surface of the coin indicate that it was wiped with something abrasive

Would you say market acceptable?
—if market acceptable then when graded do they put on the slab cleaned or does market acceptable mean they will grade it as though not cleaned—it seems on places like eBay you dont get what some of the online sites say its worth—i would imagine eye appeal is a facture also

Correct.

eBay sold prices are one of the best places to find out coin values. Many online sites have prices that are far too high. Keep in mind that most people buying coins of such value will want to have them authenticated. If you want to sell the coin, send it to ANACS for authentication and grading, as this coin does not warrant a PCGS or NGC submission.

SD 2017
Why do you say send to ANACS and not PCGS or NGC for grading this coin?

Originally I thought this was your average cleaned AU $3 gold. But this date has a lower mintage and is more valuable. On second thought, I would send this to PCGS, NGC, or ANACS if you're selling it, as this is not a common date. Didn't take that into consideration at first.
